Clarkdale Baptist Church: Connecting people with Jesus, one another and the world. Our purpose is to glorify God in Evangelism, Discipleship, Ministry, and Fellowship. We are an autonomous church voluntarily associated with the Yavapai Baptist Association, the Arizona Southern Baptist Convention, and the Southern Baptist Convention. Our Mission/Vision Clarkdale Baptist Church will make disciples of Jesus through Christ-centered, community-focused, inter-generational worship, groups and service.
Our Values
Family: We value families on earth as God values His family. Our Clarkdale Baptist mission is to build families by helping them discover and pursue God's design. (Ephesians 5:22-6:9; Joshua 24:15) Biblical teaching: We value Biblical teaching as truth that leads us to spiritual maturity. We believe anointed teaching is the catalyst for transformation in individual's lives and in the church. (Romans 12:7; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; James 1:23-25). Prayer: We value prayer because it is the primary work of the people of God. (Mark 11:17; Colossians 1:9-14; Matthey 21:13). Prayer is the visible and demonstrable way we declare that without prayer, nothing of significance happens. Without Him we can do nothing but with Him all things are possible. (Matthew 19:26). Worship: We value worship because everything begins and ends with God. Clarkdale Baptist Church exists to help people experience God and develop a life of worship. (John 4:21-24; Revelation 4; Revelation 5:6-14) Fellowship: We value Christian fellowship which bonds believers in unity. (Colossians 3:12-17; Acts 2:42; 1 John 1:3-7). We believe we are better together. "Where there is no vision, the people perish" Proverbs 29:18 This We Believe:
1. ABOUT GOD God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He eternally exists in three persons: the Father; the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are One God. Genesis 1:1,26,27; 3:22; Psalm 90:2; Matthew 26:19; 1 Peter 1:2 2. ABOUT MAN Man is made in the spiritual image of God, to be like Him in character. He is the supreme object of God's creation. Although man has tremendous potential for good, he is marred by disobedience toward God, which is called sin. This condition separates man from God. Genesis 1:27, Psalm 8:3-6; Isaiah 53:6a; Romans 3:23; Isaiah 59:1,2 3. ABOUT ETERNITY Man was created to exist forever. He will either exist eternally separated from God by sin, or in union with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is eternal death in Hell. To be eternally in union with Him is eternal life in Heaven. Heaven and Hell are places of eternal existence. John 3:16; John 2:25; 1 John 5:11-13; Romans 6:23; Revelation 20:15; Matthew 8:11; Matthew 24:44 4. ABOUT JESUS CHRIST Jesus Christ is the Son of God. In His life on earth He was both fully God and fully man. Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on a cross. He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven's glory and will return again to earth to reign as King of Kings, and Lord of Lords. Matthew 1:22,23; Isaiah 9:6; John 1:1-5, 14:10-30; Hebrews 4:14,15; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Romans 1:3,4; Acts 1:9-11; 1 Timothy 6:14,15; Titus 2:13 5. ABOUT SALVATION Salvation is a gift from God toward each person. A Person can never make up for his/her sin by self-improvement or good works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God's offer of for forgiveness can one be saved from sin's penalty. Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:8,9; John 14:6, 1:12; Titus 3:5; Galatians 3:26; Romans 5:1 6. ABOUT ETERNAL SECURITY Because God gives a believer eternal life through Jesus Christ, the believer is secure in that salvation for eternity. Salvation is maintained only by the grace and power of God, not by the self-effort of the Christian. It is the grace and keeping power of God that gives this security. John 10:29; Philippians 1:6; II Timothy 1:12; Hebrews 7:25; 10:10,14; 1 Peter 1:3-5 7. ABOUT THE HOLY SPIRIT The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God. He is present in the world to make men aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He also lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. The Christian seeks to live under His control daily. II Corinthians 3:17; John 16:7-13, 14:16,17; Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 2:12, 3:16; Ephesians 1:13; Galatians 5:25; Ephesians 5:1 8. ABOUT THE BIBLE The Bible is God's Word to all people. It was written by human authors, under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and daily living. Because it is inspired by God, it is truth without any mixture of error. II Timothy 3:16; II Peter 1:20,21; II Timothy 1:13; Psalm 119:105,160, 12:6; Proverbs 30:5 9. ABOUT "RELIGION" We worship God rather than a religious organization. We do, however, choose to be part of a denomination for reasons of accountability, basic convictions, support, and the belief that in cooperation with other churches we can do more than we could by ourselves. For these reasons we proudly associate with the Yavapai Baptist Association, the Arizona Southern Baptist Convention, and the Southern Baptist Convention. James 1:27; John 17:21; Matthew 26:18-20; Galatians 1:14-16; 1 Timothy 5:4; 1 Timothy 6:5 As born-again Christians by the grace of God, AND Southern Baptists by choice, we fully support and subscribe to the Baptist Faith and Message.
